Karin Becks, Partner and trademark & design attorney, successfully passed the one year course ”Trade Mark and Design Education Programme (ETMD EP)” organized by the EUIPO (official EU trademark and design office in Alicante, Spain). The program was held for the first time and is specially designed for IP practioners who deal with the registration and prosecution of European Union trademarks and designs. A great achievement of our colleague Karin Becks, as the programme consists of a comprehensive curriculum that guides the participants through all formal and legal aspects of European Union trademark and design law and how the EUIPO applies the law in practice.
Karin Becks about the programme:
I am really glad the EUIPO gave us the opportunity to combine a lot of theory with practical discussions with the EUIPO officers and other participants originating from a lot of different member states. Due to this broader view and detailed knowledge, we will be on top of the protection of EU trademarks and designs due to which we can serve the interest of our clients even in a better way than we already did. It really has a lot of additional value and this year our colleague Nicole van Roon will participate in this course.
